Communion

Communion is an easy word to say but the diversity complexities intricacies and implications of the word are unfathomable to describe in minute detail. The subject of communion has to be experienced and seen as an everyday, every moment experience. To disassociate communion and delegate it to only as a religious church function would cripple the very people desiring to understand the width, depth and breath of the act of communion. The subject of the Holy Eucharist mystifies people and is still heavily debated. As a body of believers we are not called nor desire to debate words describing rituals so when questioned about the actual act itself it may be called, The Lord's Supper, Holy Communion and any other combination but it all boils down to one thing- the act of participating in and partaking in an act of communion. In this life we are called into the act of communion in many different ways and with very different relationships. Normally when someone in the church says communion we automatically think the bread and wine or body and blood of Christ, " The blessed sacraments." but there are many types of communion.

Do you understand the basic essence of communion and how it runs throughout life? Do you see yourself having communion when you are not in church? Are home fellowships an act of communion? Is your prayer life not an act of communion or when you are intimate with your spouse and interact with your family? You can have a type of communion with yourself if you take time to reflect and meditate on where you are in life and where you are going.

I  practice and participate in the act of receiving holy communion as I also speak and teach on its eternal benefits but there is so much more to communion and this is where people can come into unity when their understanding is opened. They will become enlightened that different types of communion are happening around us, through us and to us all the time. Every moment of everyday we are in an act of communion with someone or something and yes even ourselves if we are paying, really paying attention.

My concern is, how are you doing and feeling today? How is your life going? Are you and God Ok? How is the family doing and what about yourself? If you are like most people you will put yourself last on the list of having a meaningful communion experience.

Me as a person and the new fellowship we are creating would like to help you change your concept of communion and bring back to you something more basic, more practical and definitely more functional. Prosperity of the mind body and soul are just as rich and meaningful as any religious experience. Actually receiving Holy communion feels better and makes more sense when we can celebrate our freedoms.
